Casting makes a beautiful replica allowing you to capture a memory and preserve special moments in time. Willow catkins turning yellow and starting to come into flower are one of the first signs of spring as is the birdsong heard in the dawn chorus, hence the inclusion of a bird impression on this casting.
This casting is one of two but is mounted on a different background colour and a larger frame. The wooden frame and backing board is hand painted and the paint colours have been selected to compliment the plastercast. A matt glaze has been applied to the surface of the casting which gives a softening effect.
The frame can be wall hung or will stand independently and should only be hung internally. Areas of high moisture, condensation and direct heat should be avoided. There is no glass in the frame to allow the sculptural effect of the casting to be seen at its best.
External frame 24 cm square
Internal frame 19 cm square
Plastercast approximately 10 cm square
Please be aware, because each tile is handmade, there will be slight variations in shape and thickness across a tile, occasional tiny air bubbles showing through, and the edges and corners may not be completely square. The frames and back board may show minor brush marks and there may be occasional knots in the wood. None of these are imperfections but a function of this unique hand crafting process.
I cannot replicate this item but if you would like a casting picture with a specific frame or background colour to match your décor just get in contact as I am more than happy to help if I can.
